After many months and countless hours of preparation, Harvard Sex Week 2021 arrived to campus from November 8-14, and was a resounding success!
With 19 events throughout Sex Week 2021, this year was SHEATH’s largest week of programming since 2012. Our most popular events included Sex Toys 101, Anal 101, and A+ Students, and F-Boys: Hookups at Harvard. For each event, students packed themselves like sardines into our campus’ largest lecture halls. In total, we saw over 1,700 students total in attendance throughout the week – the most in history! Our successes were covered by The Harvard Crimson not once, not twice, but three times before the end of Sex Week.
One of the most meaningful events we held was “Let’s Talk About Porn, Baby,” which was hosted by Harvard 2019 alum Val Elefante. Val loved attending Sex Week events while she was an undergraduate, and she returned to campus to give a presentation on finding more ethical pornography. She also shared her directorial debut, an adult film she created in 2019 as her Harvard thesis project. It was so empowering to learn that there are ways that Harvard students can to do meaningful, sex-positive work during and after graduation.
Over the course of the week, we distributed tens of thousands of dollars of safer sex supplies and sex toys to our student body. We want to specifically thank ONE Condoms for their generous donation of condoms to Sex Week – our attendees especially loved the custom-themed Sex Week condoms with our signature bird on them! It means so much to the SHEATH team to have ONE’s continued support as a Sex Week sponsor. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
