For the sixth year in a row over 700 guests lined up in Minneapolis to attend the annual Ready or Hot party. The fundraising event, hosted by Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, raised $137,000 for the organization’s mission of advocating for and providing access to sexual and reproductive healthcare and education.
Ready or Hot was centered around a “radically-inclusive” fashion show that highlighted the diverse beauty of community members. Casting for the catwalk included local “change makers” representing a variety of professions and backgrounds, not limited to burlesque performers, stylists, community activists, students, business owners, architects, real estate brokers, donut queens, and more. Learn more about the models here. Most of the runway looks were exclusive designs from Twin Cities retailers, but the show incorporated a Condom Couture segment with five condom outfits made by student designers. We are continuously inspired by Planned Parenthood MNS’s bold and expressive events that advocate for sexual health and are proud to partner with the organization through Project CONDOM. Stay tuned for next year’s party!
