one announces winners from condom wrapper design contest!

We just announced the winners from Contest 1 of the 2016 ONE® Design Contest! Congrats to all the winners, and thank you to all who submitted! Winners include advocates, designers, and painters from Malaysia to Slovenia to the United States and beyond. 

You—our amazing ONE community—submitted incredible designs. Then you helped us determine winners by voting for your favorite designs. ONE received nearly 500 submissions and more than 125,000 votes from across the world. Designs ranged from funny and cheeky to abstract painting or art. Others portrayed important sexual health messages, including: “Step Number ONE: Get Consent.”

The “Community Pick” winner is determined by public voting. After public voting determines the top 100 designs, a panel of judges selects the “Judges’ Pick” and 8 “Runners-Up.” ONE staff members also select additional favorites called “Staff Picks.”  

Winners receive a cash prize and a year’s supply of condoms featuring  their own designs. They also select a health beneficiary organization, to which ONE donates 5,000 condoms. A total of 50,000 condoms will be donated to condom outreach programs across the world!

For more than a decade, the ONE Design Contest has given artists and advocates a platform to show their passion for art and sexual health. Colorful artwork on condom wrappers serves as a conversation starter, and helps break down stigma around sexual health education and outreach.
